The Mount Etna Wine Tour is designed to combine an active and engaging morning on the volcano with the pleasure of traditional Sicilian cuisine and excellent Etna wines.
The experience begins with a guided excursion on Mount Etna, where guests discover the most fascinating features of the volcano. The route includes a walk along the edge of an extinct crater, the exploration of a lava cave, and in-depth explanations about the eruptions that, over the years, have reshaped the landscape and affected nearby tourist areas.
It is led by local guides born and raised on Mount Etna, whose deep connection with the volcano adds authenticity and insight to the experience, blending geological knowledge with personal stories and local traditions.
Once the morning excursion is completed, the focus shifts from exploration to taste. Guests are welcomed to one of the carefully selected wineries in the Etna area, where the culinary part of the experience begins.
Lunch offers the opportunity to enjoy Etna wines paired with traditional Sicilian dishes, prepared with local ingredients and inspired by regional recipes. Throughout the meal, wine professionals guide guests through the tasting, explaining the characteristics of the wines, their history, and the best food pairings.
This tour perfectly represents the spirit of Mount Etna: a place shaped by eruptions and transformation, where the volcano is not only a symbol of destruction, but also of life, resilience, and renewal. Over centuries, local communities have learned to live close to Etna, turning its power into a valuable resource that today defines the identity and richness of the region.
Meeting Point at Montata Grande - Via Dottore Giuseppe Zappalà, 45, 95039 Trecastagni (CT). The meeting at 8:30, although we know it’s early, is to avoid getting stuck in traffic. You can park your car and take some time to enjoy a delicious breakfast: a coffee, cappuccino, or americano, a refreshing glass of granita, and our homemade cakes.
A short briefing about the whole tour and by the guide's car, we're gonna move all around the Etna volcano up to the lunch time.
Upon arriving at the winery, you’ll be welcomed by our staff, who will guide you on a food and wine journey, featuring a selection of wines by the glass, each paired with traditional Sicilian dishes.
