This is the tour designed to combine an exciting and active morning with good traditional Sicilian food and excellent Etna wine.
During the morning we will discover all the peculiarities of the volcano: a walk on the edge of an extinct volcano, the discovery of a lava cave, we will talk about the eruptions that have destroyed the tourist resorts over the years. The tour will be conducted by our guides born and raised on Etna.
Once the morning excursion is completed, it will be time for our guests to actively participate in the day with lunch in one of the wineries selected by us in the Etna area.
Our guests will have the opportunity to taste Etna wines paired with traditional Sicilian culinary dishes. Lunch will be accompanied by industry experts who will comment on the wine, properties, history and the best possible pairing with the dishes.
This tour is the type of excursion that best completes the experience of Etna as the volcano is not only synonymous with destruction but also with life and how our ancestors, throughout our history, have managed to create a very close to the volcano, such that it can now be considered a resource rather than a threat.
Meeting Point at Montata Grande - Via Dottore Giuseppe Zappalà, 45, 95039 Trecastagni (CT). The meeting at 8:30, although we know it’s early, is to avoid getting stuck in traffic. You can park your car and take some time to enjoy a delicious breakfast: a coffee, cappuccino, or americano, a refreshing glass of granita, and our homemade cakes.
A short briefing about the whole tour and by the guide's car, we're gonna move all around the Etna volcano up to the lunch time.
Upon arriving at the winery, you’ll be welcomed by our staff, who will guide you on a food and wine journey, featuring a selection of wines by the glass, each paired with traditional Sicilian dishes.
No, it’s not necessary. However, we recommend wearing long trousers, sneakers (no sandals or flip-flops), and bringing a sweater or jacket, as it can be windy or cooler at 2,000 meters (6,000 feet).
It’s up to you. You can purchase still or sparkling water before departure. Eating in the car is not allowed, but you’re welcome to bring food to enjoy during the stops along the way.
Yes, there is! Please inform us of any special needs, health concerns, or specific allergies if you plan to join us for lunch. Check the weather forecast, as you’ll enjoy the tour more under favorable weather conditions. Also, note that we don’t have a child seat available, so it’s best to bring your own if needed.
