Love Etna Explorer Morning is the perfect experience for travellers looking to discover Mount Etna beyond the ordinary tourist routes. Combining scenic off-road tracks, volcanic landscapes and expert guidance, this small-group 4×4 adventure takes you deep into the heart of Europe’s highest active volcano.
Travelling aboard a comfortable 4×4 vehicle, you’ll explore ancient lava fields, panoramic viewpoints, volcanic craters and a genuine lava cave while learning how centuries of eruptions have shaped this extraordinary landscape.
The experience begins at Montata Grande at 8:30 AM, where you’ll meet your guide before setting off on an unforgettable morning adventure across Mount Etna.
Shortly after leaving Montata Grande, the first off-road section begins.
This initial volcanic track offers the perfect introduction to the adventure ahead, allowing you to experience the unique feeling of travelling across Mount Etna’s rugged terrain before reaching the higher slopes of the volcano.
Our first stop takes us to around 2,000 metres above sea level, where an easy walk allows you to discover the famous lateral craters.
These extinct volcanic cones offer spectacular panoramic views and provide the perfect introduction to Mount Etna’s fascinating volcanic history.
The adventure continues as we leave the asphalt once again and follow scenic volcanic tracks towards one of Mount Etna’s most breathtaking viewpoints.
Standing above the immense Valle del Bove, you’ll admire one of Europe’s largest volcanic depressions while your guide explains the geological events that created this extraordinary natural amphitheatre.
After another off-road section, the experience continues with the exploration of a genuine lava tube.
Equipped with helmets and headlamps, you’ll enter the cave and discover how flowing lava created these remarkable underground tunnels. Your guide will also explain how lava caves played an important role in the history and economy of the local communities living on Mount Etna.
Driving back to Montata Grande, you’ll conclude your adventure with a tasting of carefully selected local Etna specialties.
If you wish, you may also extend the experience by enjoying a traditional lunch at Montata Grande before returning.

Meeting Point at Montata Grande - Via Dottore Giuseppe Zappalà, 45, 95039 Trecastagni (CT). You can park your car and take some time to enjoy a delicious breakfast: a coffee, cappuccino, or americano, a refreshing glass of granita, and our homemade cakes.
After a short introduction, we’ll head towards Mount Etna and start our off-road adventure, exploring volcanic tracks, breathtaking landscapes and some of the volcano’s most spectacular viewpoints.

Only short and easy walks are included. Most of the experience takes place aboard our 4x4 vehicle, making the tour suitable for most travellers.
Comfortable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes are essential. Trainers or hiking shoes are recommended, while sandals and flip-flops are not suitable for volcanic terrain. Even in summer, temperatures at higher altitudes can be significantly cooler than in Catania.
