The Mount Etna Morning Tour is one of the most requested excursions, as it offers the easiest and most comfortable way to discover Mount Etna and its extraordinary volcanic landscapes.
This guided experience follows a step-by-step itinerary with several stops inside Etna Park, allowing guests to appreciate areas of great natural and geological interest without long or demanding walks.
It starts in the traditional Etna countryside at Montata Grande, in the town of Trecastagni. After parking the car, guests can take their time to enjoy a coffee, cappuccino, or a refreshing granita before departure.
From here, the tour continues by vehicle, reaching different scenic locations shaped by centuries of eruptions. Along the way, guests will admire ancient lava fields, volcanic cones, forests, and stunning landscapes, with frequent stops to explore and take photos.
The experience includes a short walk along the rim of a lateral crater and a visit to a lava cave (lava tube). Equipped with helmets and lights, guests descend inside the volcano to better understand the processes connected to lava flows and underground volcanic activity.
One of the final panoramic stops offers a breathtaking view over the Valle del Bove, with views extending towards Taormina, Giardini Naxos, and the Calabrian coast. The tour then concludes with a free tasting of local Etna products, a perfect way to end the experience.
Throughout the excursion, certified nature guides explain, in clear and accessible language, the main natural and volcanological features of Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.
If this is your first time on Mount Etna, this tour offers the best introduction to the volcano, its history, and the stories that have shaped this unique territory.
