The Mount Etna Sunset Tour is one of the most popular experiences on the volcano and offers a comfortable and scenic way to explore Mount Etna during the most atmospheric moment of the day.
This guided sunset tour by vehicle, combined with short and easy walks, follows a carefully planned itinerary with panoramic stops inside Etna Park, allowing visitors to enjoy the volcanic landscape without long hikes or demanding trails.
The tour begins in the traditional Etna countryside at Montata Grande, in the town of Trecastagni. Before departure, guests can relax with a coffee, granita, or a glass of local Etna wine. Those who choose the optional food experience may also enjoy a traditional Etna lunch.
From here, the tour continues by vehicle, reaching different scenic areas shaped by ancient and recent eruptions, including lava fields, extinct craters, forests, and breathtaking viewpoints.
One of the highlights of the tour is a stop at the impressive Valle del Bove, where our guides explain the most important eruption of the 20th century and the geological evolution of Mount Etna.
Guests will also explore a lava tube (lava cave), entering the volcano with helmets and headlamps to better understand how lava flows form beneath the surface.
The experience ends with a short walk around a lateral crater, reaching around 2,000 meters, where the tour pauses to admire an unforgettable sunset over Mount Etna’s volcanic landscape.
The Mount Etna Sunset Tour is suitable for first-time visitors, couples, families, and travelers looking for a relaxed experience that combines nature, volcanic landscapes, and storytelling.
It is not suitable for those looking for long hikes or physically demanding trekking experiences, as the tour is designed to be accessible and comfortable.
